"I Don't Have Time" The Biggest Barrier to Better Health

It's one of the most common reasons people give for not exercising, and on the surface, it feels like a valid excuse. Between work, family, and everyday responsibilities, finding an extra hour can seem impossible.

But if you've been saying those words for the last few years, it's worth asking yourself one question: where has that left your health?

We All Have the Same 24 Hours

The truth is, we all have the same amount of time. More often than not, it isn't a lack of time—it's a lack of priority.

When we say, "I don't have time," what we often mean is, "I haven't made my health a priority."

That isn't about making you feel guilty. It's simply recognising that we make time for the things we value. Work meetings, school runs, and social events all make it into the diary. Our health deserves a place there too.

Your Health Is an Investment

Every workout, every healthy meal, and every good night's sleep is an investment in your future. Ignore those investments for long enough, and eventually you'll notice the cost.

Lower energy, reduced strength, aches and pains, and struggling with everyday tasks rarely happen overnight. They build gradually over time, often because we kept putting our health on the back burner.

One Hour That Gives You More

That's why our classes are just one hour long.

For one hour, you step away from the stresses of the day and focus on yourself. You move, build strength, improve your fitness, and leave feeling better than when you arrived.

One hour is just over 4% of your day, but the benefits can positively impact the other 96%.

Looking After Yourself Isn't Selfish

Many people feel guilty about taking time for themselves, but looking after your health isn't selfish—it's essential.

When you have more energy, feel stronger, and improve your wellbeing, you're able to show up as a better partner, parent, friend, and colleague. Investing in yourself benefits everyone around you.

Progress Doesn't Require Perfection

You don't need to train every day or completely change your lifestyle to see results.

Two or three consistent sessions each week can make a huge difference to your health. The goal isn't perfection—it's creating habits you can maintain for years.

Make Time Before You Have To

There are usually two reasons people make time for their health.

The first is because they choose to.

The second is because poor health leaves them with no choice.

At CrossFit Shenley, we don't expect fitness to become your whole life. We simply want one hour of your day to help you enjoy the other twenty-three.

Because you don't find time for your health.

You choose to make it.
