When Is the Right Time to Start?

“I'll start on Monday.”
“I'll start after my holiday.”
“I'll start when work calms down.”

“I'll start next year.”
We've all said it.
The problem is that Monday comes and goes. The holiday finishes. Work gets busy again. Then January arrives and we find another reason to wait.
There Is Never a Perfect Time
Life doesn't suddenly become quiet.
There will always be something going on.
A busy week at work. A holiday. A birthday. Christmas. A stressful period. A family commitment.
If you're waiting for everything to line up perfectly before you start, you could be waiting for a very long time.
Start Before You're Ready
You don't need to have everything figured out.
You don't need to be fit before joining a gym.
You don't need to know how to do all the movements.
You don't need the perfect diet.
You don't even need to feel motivated.
You just need to make the decision to start.
Once you start, you can figure the rest out along the way.
Imagine If You Started Six Months Ago
This is the bit that gets people.
Imagine you had started six months ago.
Maybe you would be stronger.
Maybe you'd have lost some weight.
Maybe you'd have made some new friends.
Maybe you'd have learnt movements you never thought you could do.
Maybe you'd simply feel better.
Now imagine saying, “I'll start in another six months.”
The time is going to pass anyway.
Start Now
You don't have to wait for Monday.
You don't have to wait until January.
You don't have to wait until after your holiday.
You don't have to wait until you're fitter.
Start now.
Your first session doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to happen.
At CrossFit Shenley, we'll take you from where you are, teach you what you need to know and help you build from there.
The best time to start might have been six months ago.
The next best time is today.
