The Gym Doesn't Have to Take Over Your Life

You don't need to spend your life in the gym.

You don't need to train twice a day. You don't need to count every calorie. You don't need to build your entire life around fitness.
Sometimes, people don't start because they think getting fit means completely changing their lifestyle.
It doesn't.
Three Hours a Week
For most people, three one-hour classes a week is enough to make a huge difference.
That's three hours.
Out of 168 hours in a week.
It's a tiny amount of your time when you look at it like that.
But those three hours can have a much bigger impact than the time you spend in the gym.
What You Get Back
You become stronger.
You improve your fitness.
You move better.
You have more energy.
You build confidence.
You meet people.
You give yourself some time away from work, your phone and everything else going on in life.
And hopefully, you start feeling better because of it.
That's a pretty good return on three hours.
Fitness Should Support Your Life
We don't want the gym to become your whole life.
We want it to improve your life.
You should still go on holiday. Go for dinner. Have a few drinks. Spend time with your family. Watch football. Sit on the sofa. Enjoy yourself.
Training should fit around your life, not the other way around.
The goal isn't to spend every spare hour exercising.
The goal is to become strong and fit enough to enjoy the hours you're not exercising.
Three Hours Can Change a Lot
Think about what happens when you consistently invest three hours a week into yourself for a year.
That's over 150 hours of training.
You could be dramatically stronger.
Your fitness could be completely different.
You could have learnt movements you never thought you'd be able to do.
And you could have built habits that stay with you for years.
All from a few hours a week.
Make Time for Yourself
We often tell ourselves that we don't have time.
But sometimes it's about making yourself a priority.
You don't need to find twenty hours a week.
You don't need to become obsessed with fitness.
You just need to find a few hours.
Three hours where you put your health first.
Because the gym shouldn't take over your life.
It should help you get more out of it.
That's what we're trying to create at CrossFit Shenley.
Training that fits into your life, makes you stronger, and helps you enjoy everything outside the gym even more.
